LIGHTING

“Never be afraid of shadows. It signifies that near, somewhere, there’s an illumination of light”
(Ruth E. Renkel)

Light- An impalpable element that allows the sense of sight to see the world around us.
Light is a component that emits emotion that, as an electromagnetic wave, interacts with matter. It manifests our figure to others, a fundamental addition that would otherwise restrain us to the darkness.
The light that amazes us, warm light, light that frightens us, light that calms us, punctual light, diffused light... light, an element molded into handcrafted, luminous prototypes, seeking the balance between ambient lighting and design

KEMUSHI
2017
Inspired by nature, “Kemushi” is atributing to the goofiest of insects that has always struck me, not only for its bizarre shapes, but also for its defense strategies against predators by adopting aposematic colors.

Textile - Chromed Aluminum - Corrugated Polyethylene

There are three different ways to illuminate the environment: in a warm and welcoming way, where sinuous curves and sweet geometries give a diffused light, suitable for warming the environment to enjoy peace and tranquility after an endless entangled day of commitments. All versions are customizable in size, material, heat, light intensity, shape, lighting body, color, and length of the electric textile cable.

The version made of chromed-aluminum metal material has the particularity of integrating the on / off switch and also dimming the light intensity, by different amounts of touches by hand in Touch mode.
The version in corrugated polyethylene is available in either warm or cold, white or in RGB mod, with ignition and color management via remote control - excellent for creating engulfing atmospheres and useful for relaxing moments of chromotherapy.

Exhibited as a prototype at Design Week in Genoa 2019 edition - DIDE - Genoa Design District

KUMO
2018
The prototype inspired by the Clouds is a lightweight suspended body that plays with the three-dimensionality of space and volume.
Customizable in size, light color/intensity, light point, color, and length of textile electrical cable, it is a furnishing element for environments ranging from Outdoor such as verandas, conservatories, and pergolas to Indoor such as dining rooms, kitchens, living rooms, and workplaces.

The Anchovy Solo
2020
2020 Lockdown year! No one can forget the enforced isolation that forced us home.
The luck of living by the sea, on the cliff, gave me the possibility to escape with my mind and enjoy the view of the sea, its noise, and its smell.
The sea is rich, and it is a hard worker.
It never stops. Ceaselessly, it transforms, smooths, and works everything it touches.
A branch fallen into the sea and smoothed by the waves, bleached by salt and sun, is returned among the rocks, who knows after how long, catches my attention.
Shaped to perfection, it resembles a coral.
Fascinated by its shape given by natural elements, I take it home.
It's Sunday, and my mother-in-law's tasty lasagna makes the family gathering even more interesting.
The post-lunch moment of tidying up and washing dishes brings me inspiration.
The single-use medium-size aluminum baking pan, still shiny, and moldable, can take on a new shape and new life.
Its shine and ductility make it perfect to be transformed into the main subject of the art of recycling.
From the aluminum pan, hand-carved and handcrafted metal planks, become essential metallic elements of a "light sculpture".
In order to be extracted and processed to produce a single 33-ml can, a noble material like aluminum is polluted 38 cubic meters of air, consumed 18 liters of water, and destroyed 30 cubic centimeters of the planet's soil, cannot be ignorantly thrown in the trash.
Here are two elements so distant, and united by the fact that they are 2 noble, perfectly processed materials-one by man and the other by nature-that would have been trashed or dispersed in the environment, come together and come to life for a second time, in a different role-the: the long lock-down period, has also given room to stop, think and observe things from another point of view.

Thus was born "The Anchovy Soloist" - an illuminating element, suitable for a wall as a light point for reading atmosphere, suffused ideal for a bedroom, study - composed of natural suspension elements ‘anchovies style” of hand-carved aluminum - wood - nylon fishing line and EGOLUCE light point - KALLA LED WALL 1W.
